In the past five years, the Maker Education Initiative (Maker Ed) has supported hundreds of organizations get started with maker education. Through surveys and case studies of many of the organizations supported through their summer program, Maker Corps, we have observed how individuals champion and mobilize for maker education. Who champions it? What power do they have to make change? What resources do they draw on? What motivates them? We will highlight organizations in libraries, museums and school settings to describe how setting can influence organizational change.
